About
Emile Zola’s controversial nineteenth century novel, Thérèse Raquin , tells a passionate love-hate story, ghost tale, and revenge tragedy in one.
Thérèse Raquin endures a mundane existence with her husband Camille and his mother in a claustrophobic Paris apartment. Into their familial atmosphere of desiccated spirits and damp decay arrives Laurent, whose strong appetite for pleasure drives him into a torrid and dangerous affair with Thérèse. One day the pair conspires to murder Camille , which allows them, after a period of angst-inducing abstinence, to marry; but it is not long before their mutually destructive guilt invites the ghost of Camille to share their home, their bed, and their minds.

Reviews
“…a fantastic production. It punches you in the gut, winds you, triggers something primal in you; but it does so in a way that is at the same time creatively and intellectually complex” – Theatre Review
